ONE WEEK TO GO

Hello All

It's been another long week but not quite as hetic as previous weeks, to start with the weather has been glorious this week the mornings have been especially pretty the sun comes up when I'm usually half way to the station, anyway it makes the walk much nicer and with a bit of a spring in my step.

My friend Bob came to visit this week he's just got back from visiting his daughter in Devon. As usual we did the crossword well I helped in beteween serving drinks and stuff. A few weeks ago whilst waiting for the Red Lion to open on Sunday(by the Cenotaph) where we met lol he got chatting to a nice American gentleman who had just been visiting Downing Street anyway a couple of pints of Guiness later a few photos they exchange addresses and the American chap shows him his NYPD badge he works in the Central Park district luckily at 87 Bob has a lively interes in all things, well just over a week ago Bob recieves a commemmorative badge depicting 9/11 as shown I thought this was nice and Bob is ever so pleased.

We also celebrated St Patricks this week so the pub was festooned in green there are a few pictures these were taken in the morning before we opened anyway a very busy Friday night yes Iknow St Pats was yesterday but we do not open on sat night so we had our party one day early the punters did'nt mind.

On Wednesday we have the second quiz night so I'm busy compiling the questions it looks like were going to have more teams this time and it seem that have all been boning up on every subject under the sun, as much as I enjoy doing this it has become almost the sole topic of conversation lol beats football I suppose lol.

This was my first week end off in a while and yesterday I did very little just relaxed most of the day only to driven out of the house due to hunger lol so chinese last night.

I went into town today very cold and windy and got caught in the hail storm which only lasted about 10 min but what a change in the weather so windy today and weather report say that there will be snow this week but not in this part of the world.

I finish up on Friday for one week can't wait, but I'm going to spring clean, my neighbour and I are going to hire a skip I've so much junk and in desperate need of a clear out, the clothes are already bagged for the charity shops.

Tommorow heralds the beginning of my 9th week of no smoking which has netted me £670, also tommorrow I start the diet wish me luck.

ANOTHER WEEK

It has taken me ages to find my blog, what is going on with aol at the moment the service is not great at the moment.

Anyway it has been a long week for me I have no assistant mgr at the moment as I had to suspend him for threating a customer week before last and we are still going through the disciplanry process as he decided not to attend two disciplinary hearings anyway the final meeting is taking place on Tuesday so hopefully all shall be resolved then, meanwhile I have a bigger work load and it has been very busy the past two weeks, as usual we are short staffed.

Take last week on Monday my beer delivery did,nt arrive which was the perfect start as I have to be up at 5-530 am and did'nt finish until 11.30pm.

Tuesday one member of staff a no show and as usual could'nt be bothered to phone in!!!!

Wednesday still short one staff very busy day over 60 covers for lunch, however the evening looked up as we had our first quiz night which was a resounding success, very competetive very loud and noisy I am hoarse from doing the questions 100 in all we ended up doing a tie-breaker. The next one in two weeks we had 13 teams so hopefully more next time.

Thursday I was on a course all day oin the care of draught beer and cellar training which was ok but I have won awards for good beer(Ales) have my cask marque which an accreditation for good draught ales.

Friday my god was so busy all day we did 113 covers on food which is the record so well done the chefs\o/.

Saturday I had to work only until 5 but very tired as I now only get one day off a week.

Last night had a quick look through the blogs and left some comments everyone seems to be super busy at the moment last night was the first time I logged on since last week so 47 e-mails alerts to look through.

I didnt do much today just went into town and had a manicure just wandered around the shops, I was completely overdressed as it was a very warm and sunny day really nice spring is definatley in the air thank god.

Tommorrow I will star my 8th week of being a non-smoker £600 better of I must say this last week i have been sorley tempted I even went so far as to put money in the fag machine but it would'nt take the last £1 coin and then I could'nt be bothered phew, the diet has to start soon I have put on in 8 weeks 14 pounds which is really depressing since i have done so well in giving up.

HELLO

Hello all seems like a like time since I added to my journal, well not that much has been happening, been very busy at work and again short staffed (this is the norm in my job)

I've just spent most of today putting the finishing touches to the quiz being held at the pub on  Wednesday, my customers are mad I've been offered money chocolates for the questions and answers LOL it's going to be fun, we also have St Patricks day comming up the week after and that will be very busy we usually sell a river of Guiness plus those silly hats that they all insist on wearing. Simple food this year Irish Stew and Soda Bread.

I seem to have caught this bug that has been going around the last couple of weeks and have been a bit poorly it just seemed to sap all my energy feeling a lot better now though.

The wind and the rain put me off going out today so miserable and yesterday was a nice day but I had to work so missed the nice bit of weekend weather we had boo-hoo lol.

So today I've done nothing but watch dvds and read and catch up on a few blogs and of course eat and finish the quiz. it has been quiet but nice, off to bed soo as I have to be up at 5.30 am to go to work luckily the trains have been ok the last few weeks.

49 days since I gave up smoking which = £490 I have to admit I'm now really starting to appreciate the benefits of being a non smoker. more money, healtheir, got my taste buds back well too many of them lol all the senses seem sharper only four weeks left on my course the diet comes next
