Just another observation on the new Journal Chat, on Friday there was a youngster in the chatroom, who was only ten I did report it at the time, as I felt the chatroom is not suitable for the under eighteens.
Last this child appeared again and was quite rude, when asked where her parents were the reply was in the garden, she then cmae on again under another Identity and we had more of the same, she even asked me if i was a "Kiddie Hater" then revealed her age etc. she is 10..!!
I have reported this so did Guido from Northern Trip.
While this is a great new addition and has prooved to be great fun for all who wish to use this facility, we obviously have to be careful about children having access to their parents journal. This particular childs mother came on and asked "who was threatening to report her child" unfortunately my pc crashed at that time so I don't know how it was resolved.
These are a few things I have learned:
1. Never give out your address or phone number
2. Always report abuse of any kind, you can also copy and paste the chat if you need further evidence.
3. Where minors are concerned report immediatley
4. There is a block facility, which means you block them from seeing your chat and you don't see theirs either
5. Above respect others and their opinions even if they differ from yours.
I know the above seems obvious, however chatrooms are new to some and we don't want anyone put off from using it.
As this is a new feature I think the guys from Magic Smoke would be happy to hear our observations, and helps us keep this safe and enjoyable.

I agree that no child needs to be on a chat room. I think her mom needs a good spanking for allowing her child on like that.
I had a great time chatting with you and the rest today. I wish that I could get the sound issue rectified!

Mother came back in and berated us for reporting her kiddies. We told her that her kid's behaviour had been rude and unacceptable. She said that 'Ocean' had found Monae's screenname (southernmush) "silly". Mom flew off the handle saying that that meant CUTE. I countered by saying that to adults it meant "ridiculous", and such differences in interpretation were the very reason why children had to be supervised. Even if she was supervising, she was making an extremely poor job of it. Ocean's behaviour to yourself was the worst aspect and fully merited reporting.

yeah we talk and cam on yahoo and vzo, he just uses pal when I am at work, I did use it to but my subscription ran out and pay day isn't for a while but im not even sure i want to go back there...we''ll see i guess

Sound advice Yasmin. I was in there a lot this morning and we had not problems, but I found two good new journals which I have plugged on mine, there seems to be a problem both with journals and alerts today for many.

Yes hun I wrote that poem. I write a bit dramatic sometimes, but its like 5 minute poems I just release, and there ya have it:) I like to keep it as it was in my head.

It was crazy in the chat room the other day. I didn't encounter the little girl but I did run into some foul mouthed young adults. And I was happy to report them. They need to take it to a private chat room if they want to talk like that. It was really disgusting. Linda in Washington state
