FRANCE#2

I'm making a second attempt on going to France..lol, I leave next Friday and shall be leaving at the crack of dawn just to make sure, that the trip goes off without a hitch this time, luckily the insurance from the last aborted attempt will pay out, so I'm not out of pocket. I still have heard nothing from Ryanair about Christmas Eve, but not holdng my breath they have a bad track record, with customer service.

I'll be back from France for about four days then off to Valencia (Spain) to vist my ex boss and his wife who finally retired out there just before Christmas, so looks like January is looking up.

I had called the local voluntary services, about League of Friends and they said just to come in, so I'll go along to tommorrow have a chat and see whats needed.

I have'nt been out much the last few days it's cold and miserable and would much rather be snuggled up on the sofa with a good book, I haven't even been tempted by the sales this year, plus I'm not very good at bargain hunting.

I was talking to a friend yesterday, about this and that when the subject of blogging came up, he is quite surprised that I have a public blog(although not a reader of mine), he wants to do the same but is concerned on what to write about, which brings me to the question of why I blog/keep a journal.

Well when I was younger I always kept some sort of diary usually filled with the normal girlie things, my favourite popstar at the the time was Donny Osmond I stand by my choice...lol, although I always enjoyed writing etc, one thing another I stopped(became a fully fledged teenager graduating to full time party animal I'll skim over that bit...lol). However when I re-joined the internet world, I discovered Blogs and read many before I attempted to do the same myself.

Thus it began I really had no idea what I would write about and my original entries are quite poor, saying that, I enjoy it tremendously, and have been so inspired by many of the journals that I read, and the people that I have met through th JLand community.

So my answer to "G" is that it's a new way to meet people, we lead such busy lives now, and in most cases we do not have family or friends readily available, it's easier in some ways to make time to use the internet as a way to keep in touch and make new friends. "G" is still not convinced and is going to think about it a bit more, he is more worried that people will not find him interesting and he is not an accomplished writer, well neither am I say but I just get on with and hope someone finds something of interest. I'll keep working on him he just needs a kick up the you know what...lol.

What were your reasons for starting a blog/journal?

Thats all I have for now

Take care all

Wahey about France. About the reason for starting a blog? well,I sat having a wee dram on a saturday night feeling lonely and decided I needed to try to connect with people, mainly to make them laugh and make my millions with a publishing contract at the end of it! lol (not given up yet!) I want to have my own cattery one day so I can take care of all the wee treasures. Tell "G" to give it a go,I'm sure he will never look back. Love Pam xx

Good luck on your next trip!  France sounds lovely!  I started my blog much in the same way you did.  I really just wanted to start writing again.  It had been too long since I had kept a journal paper or digital.

I started my blog when my marriage fell apart. I was looking for someone who understood what I was going through and I met Tina that way she was going through a divorce with two children he husband did the same thing so we clicked and I read her journal for a few months before I was brave enough to do my own. My entries back then were sad and miserable. I have grown so much with everyones help. This was the best therapy for me besides my grandson. I still read Tina and I am two years into my journal now. Everyone that has been on the ride with me knows how far I have come and it's nice to have somebody say that they've been there and they know what you're feeling and its normal and nice to see where they are now. Gives me hope. How's that for an answer to your question.
I'm jealous you're going to France. I have never been to Europe in my life. I would love to travel someday. If my nephew ever gets transferred to Italy I'm visiting maybe for awhile. Everything is so breathtaking to me. I love pictures. I hope you take lots of pictures to share. That's the only way I will see. I would love to see pictures of Spain too. Have a great trip and be safe.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Take care and Hugs, Chrissie (DSD)

Keeping fingers crossed your trip to France goes off well, and then Spain ~~ how great is that!!!  I hope you have a wonderful trip & I can't wait to hear all about it.  Isn't trip insurance great?  We had a big cruise booked, I got kicked in the abdomen by one of my rescue horses and had to cancel due to the injuries, the insurance paid every dime!!!  I'll never plan a trip without it.

If you remember, I just started mine.  I felt (and am still concerned) that I wouldn't have enough to talk about.  It took me a while to decide to go ahead and try it but I'm glad I did.  For one thing, I retired three years ago and don't live very near where I worked.  This is a way to keep my old (work) friends informed about me and they have started emailing me more as a result.  Also, I have met some great people - like you.

Hi, and thanks for reading my journal!  I started journaling when I was younger, too, and the blog world is just an easier way to continue doing what I love.  Tell G that he shouldn't worry about whether people find his life interesting or not; he is always writing for HIMSELF, and if others find him interesting, that's a good thing!  I've stopped wondering about why folks are interested in my life.  Compared to others (like you, Ms. World Traveler, LOL), my life is pretty mundane.  All I do is work, take care of my family, and go to church! LOL  Of course, the main reason why I started an internet journal was because of Hurricane Katrina, and the effects that storm had on us.  But God is GOOD, ALL of the time, and when I read over my entries a few weeks ago, I see how I have expressed His goodness to us in each and every one of them!  Thanks for the interest in "lil ole me,", and I will be stopping by here more often!

France and Spain.  You are one lucky girl.  Most people dream of going to those places.  I like your explanation of why you blog.  Actually it's why most of us blog.  To see different perspectives, to know that others go through things just like I do.  Love the graphic.  :)
