It's been a while since I posted anything, not that much has been happening, and it seems like winter has lasted an awful longtime.
To be honest I've not felt like posting much although I keep up with journals, but even that has been half hearted at times, which seems to have been a sign of the times the last few months I notice regular journalers are not as active of late, it's quite hard to keep up with others when thing are not so great in your own back yard so to speak.
For those of you who may remember I've been suffering back pain for over a year now while at times it seems better but mostly I'm in quite a lot of pain, unabale to sit or stand for long periods, I've been doing the Alexander Technique which has helped some, and of course pain killers which I hate to rely on, but a necessary evil, I know there are others in greater pain than I, but can only deal with mine, I've also had a stomach bug which really knocked me for six but have recovered quite well from that.
Until I can do something about my back I cannot continue with my plans to train as a teacher, as my concentration would not what I would like it to be, my GP can offer no real solutions so I've booked to see an Osteopath next week, luckily my private healthcare still has a few months to run so it will cost very little, so generally feeling down in the dumps which my GP thinks it's depression(oh joy) so I'll just have to find a way to work through that.
I really loathe losing my interests, and feeling like crap, I'm such an active person not so much in body but in mind , but I think just "doing " for so long has left me depleted, clapped out at 43 lol.
Sorry for such a poor entry but i juste wanted to touch base, and with luck normal service will resume ASAP.
Take care
Thanks Donna for the graphic.

Awww hunnie, I'm so sorry. I suffer with back problems and it's no fun. Have you ever heard of a TENS unit? I had one for yrs. works great for pain. It's actually called a Transdermal Electical Nerve Stimulator Unit. No drugs and you can control it. Ask about it when you go to the Osteopath.
hugs, Bethe
Hope you feel better soon... or at least comfy
hugs

Sorry to hear you are having a bit of a rough spot Yasmin. I know about back pain and joint pain, but I'm a lot older than you and kind of expect it with age. I hope you are feeling better soon and out of the dumps.
Hugs, Joyce
Back problems are terrible - I spent a whole summer as darn near an invalid because of one, and I was only 23 at the time.
It wasn't a bad post at all, btw. :)

Hi Yasmin sorry to hear you have back problems too it seems to be spreading round j-land. I was wondering what had happened to you but did not want to intrude by asking. Hope writing this entry has help get things off your chest a bit and I have heard it is a nice day down south so maybe that will help too. Chin up. Love Joan.
Hi Yasmin. I was so pleased to see that you had posted. I think we are going through such similar things It's rather scary. I hope things will turn around for you soon. A bit of sunshine would definately help. I am hoping to be back on track soon. It's been a long haul. Really glad to hear from you. Love Pam xx
Yasmin, I came over for a visit only to discover that you are ill... I wish you could send me a bit of that cool winter weather. It is always so hot here. Back problems are something that I have been dealing with for at least 30 years, but I am a single woman, so I have to depend on me to get by... It is just something that I have learned to live with everyday. Usually, I just try to ignore it. LOL... The McKennsie McKennsey McKinsey McKinnsey (spelling?) method is what I was trained to use. It is an exercise like a push up except that your hips are on the floor... pretty much like the Cobra in Yoga... I have herniated disks in my back and I have an abnormal curve in my back, so my problem will not go away, but hopefully, yours will. Praying for a speedy recovery for you.
xx
Thanks foir visiting my journal and please feel free to visit anytime , I will keep you in my prayers and I am sending you healing hugs Sherry
Hi Yasmin, I was just thinking, "Gosh, I haven't heard from Yasmin for a while" and popped on over to see what was up. Now I see why you've been a little on the quiet side. I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well, and I hope things will start looking up soon. Miss you!

Dear Yasmin, I hope that the doctors are able to help you with the back pain. Chronic pain is very debilitating and definitely affects the spirit.
I'm not an expert on depression, but I've been there myself and I humbly suggest that you seek help for the pain of the spirit just as you're doing for the back pain. Sometimes we need more than just to cheer up. Depression is a real illness and often we need professional help dealing with it. You don't have to deal with it alone. A counselor or therapist may be able to help you put it all in perspective. I'm also a believer in medication if necessary. Depression can often arise from chemical imbalances and getting back your equilibrium may take a little pill. I take 20mg of Paxil daily and it's made a world of difference in my life. Take care of yourself.--Sheria
Good to hear from you again, Yasmin, and please don't apologise over a 'negative' entry. Nobody's life is without its down points, and I hope you can get your back sorted. It really would be a shame for you to miss out on the teaching, which is what you've worked very hard for up to now.
I really, really hope you feel better soon! I can understand some of your situation and your feelings thereof, I can DEFINITELY understand the depression thing... my thoughts and a lit candle are there for you...Hugz** Teresa
Sorry to read that things are tough at the moment Yasmin xx Hope you can find a way to be happy soon xx

Hello, Sorry that you had not been feeling well. I hope that everything gets better soon for you. Thanks for all of your journal replies. They mean a lot to me.
Best Wishes,
Gina
Sorry to hear you've been feeling down and in pain. I went through a year of medical hell while they tried to find the cause of my severe neck pain. Until the MRI and CTScan showed a deterioration in my spine they attempted to blame depression too. Push on and don't let them blow you off with a pat answer as depression or pre-menopause crap. While I haven't found any method of relief with time it has gotten somewhat better but my lifestyle of heavy lifting doesn't allow it to rest. Keep taking it easy and push the docs to find the problem. Keeping you in my thoughts & Prayers with hope you feel better.

wanted to tell you congratulations for winning the weekly caption over at Magic Smoke; that was a cute caption you came up with!!
sorry you have been having back problems, that must be very uncomfortable to deal with; I hope the osteopath can figure out a way to get you some relief when you see him
betty
I'm so sorry that you're having such bad back pain, and I hate that you have to put off your training plans. I hope the Osteopath can help.
Lori
Sorry to hear about all your back pain. I don't think there is much that equals the pain in one's back. I'm sure that your interest in journaling will come back to you when you are feeling better. I like your response to the GP thinking it is depression that you will just have to find a way to work through it. Stay strong and this too will pass. Dawn

Hey Yasmine!
Thank you for stopping by Magic Smoke and posting on the challenge.
Sorry to hear about your back. I know what it is like to live with Cronic back pain. Been doing it since I was 16. I hope you find some relief soon. I love my chiropractor!
Hugs Rosemary
You hit it on the head when you metioned there are alot of people that are just plain tired. Yes, the winter was long, but the changes that are happening all over are taking a toll on us too. I can honestly relate to you. I'm burned out. Way too much on my plate. Not complaining, just stating a fact.
I really hope that you will be able to manage the back pain and get back to your training. You sound like you would be a wonderful teacher with your compassion and (normal) energy. :)

Hey Girl! I am so glad you've got a little relief for your back. I'v ehad back probs for yrs..sugery, powerful pain meds, one of the best things was a TENS unit. Half the battle is getting someone to believe that you are actually in pain. And same here my GP thinks I'm depressed. Well, I say...You be in pain 24/7 and see what a good mood you're in Doc! I sure hope the new guy can help you out~thinking of you : ) hugs, Bethe
Yasmin
